Farms & Markets

Farms & Farm Markets are for some areas, few and far between. We do our best to buy local, organic products for our classes, cafe, & family meals. During the summer most farmers are busy tending to their crops so they have things to offer in the Fall, Winter, & Spring. During the summer most of us have to shop in a grocery store, so we choose places such as Good Earth, Richards, Whole Foods, Fresh Market, Chuck's, Publix, Sweetbay, Walmart, etc... Around here in the Sarasota/Bradenton area we are lucky to have a farm market right off the interstate which is family owned and operated, they buy from local farmers as much as possible but are open all year long with produce, Oh Ya, I forgot to mention WAY better prices than the grocery stores. Keeping in touch with your farmer even during the summer months is important to show your support and to continue "Know your farmer, Know your food". They usually will have summer events going on like special dinners, field trips, cooking classes, lunches, etc...
